A step of type Business step.
Ten sitting days are allowed for the European Statutory Instrument Committee and the Secondary Legislation Scrutiny Committee (HL) to consider whether the instrument should continue with the negative procedure or be upgraded to the affirmative procedure. During the sifting period instruments can be withdrawn, while procedure concludes at that point it does not affect the sifting period end date.
